Soften the brisk morning of autumn and shave-off the fall temperature at night. Bring the warmth of candlelight with an adorable, trendy, and festive candle holder.
Fall is the time when you want to curl up in your bed with fuzzy socks, Netflix and hot chocolate, tea, coffee or whatever your holiday drink is. There’s a coziness that only comes at certain times of the year, and it’s here!
As you may know, my favorite décor is anything farmhouse style. It is very home-like and the perfect pair for candles. Best suited on a petite end table, this candle holder not only provides excellent warmth but satisfies your fall décor.
You will need 3 main supplies:
- Miniature mason jar with candle holder you can get from Michaels.
- Candle of your choice; mine was from Bed, Bath & Beyond.
- Accessories like yarn, pearls, gems, leafs, and even cinnamon sticks!
And it’s as simple as that!
The décor is assembled in three parts; first put in the festive accessories. I chose pearls, silver and blue gems, artificial leafs, and cinnamon sticks. The vanilla bean candle sits in the holder and screws onto the top of the jar. Everyone will walk into your room and wonder where the delightful scent is coming from.
That being said, there are many benefits of this candle holder:
- It is easily portable; from the shower, to your room, to the kitchen, & more places!
- It can fit almost anywhere; its only 4 inches wide.
- It is a decorative element; you always need something cute for the fall season.
- It doesn’t look like a candle holder; this is more of an aesthetic look, where the mini candle is somewhat hidden and fits into your end table accessories.
- You can personalize it; it’s a clear jar so the possibilities are endless
Warmth is brought immediately to the space! I definitely think this candle holder works better than letting a candle sit on its own.
You feel content with you craft and the scent; don’t you love when everything just seems so perfect?
Reasons to Love Candlelight
If you’re anything like me, school is a very stressful aspect of my life. Candles always sooth my anxiety and help me relax.
I read that one of the most effortless but effective ways to relieve stress is by aromatherapy; the sense of smell. Candlelight increases the effectiveness of stress reduction. It creates a moment of solitude and stillness; the complete and total opposite of anxiety.
Check out The Calming Effects of Candlelight to read more about selecting the right candle. I saw it mentioned color; the most vital aspect a designer, like me, encounters. Notice how I chose a white candle; very neutral, peaceful, and goes with everything! Imagine a hot pink candle in the mason jar? The output from the candle would feel hectic and energetic, rather than the relaxation I was looking for.
The site mentioned above states:
“Consider color. Candles come in a rainbow of hues, which are perfect for dressing up a dinner party or backyard barbecue, but when it comes to using them to help calm and center you, stay neutral. Pastel or plain white candles can help you to remain relaxed and to focus on the flame itself.”
Think about where you want this festive candle holder and how you want it to make you feel.
White Barn is an amazing candle store. Their candles smell like heaven and they are so cute! Here are some I am thinking about buying for the holidays. If you want more candles to display with your crafted candle holder, here are some I am in love with.
The mind and spirit are a powerful thing. Mental health and aesthetic happiness is crucial. We all face hardships and challenges that no one can prevent. Sit back and allow yourself to accept these challenges, realizing they only allow yourself to become a stronger person. Candles can help you through the process!
